SCS S01E07 Crypto News, Gilgamesh ICO, & SafeNet Update

1. Topic #1 --  weekly review of the top five crypto’s of the week.
   1. Leading news - With crypto’s generally moving sideways yesterday and today, are the bears done making their move? Last week was a solid bloodletting - I personally took quite a beating … and now I’m wondering if it’s really over … or if there is another wave of selling yet  to come.  With so many traders acting on spurious news from government mouthpieces and the lamestream media, I am certainly uncertain. … Okay …  Onward with the top five today ...
      1. Bitcoin - FLAT … totally sideways.
      2. Ethereum - FLAT … totally sideways.
      3. Ripple - had a nice rebound, but now flat again.
      4. Bitcoin Cash - even FLAT-er … and totally sideways.
      5. Cardano -  FLAT … totally sideways.
2. Topic #2 -- news segment --
   1. Last week at the top of the show we mentioned that the news of imminent South Korean regulation and/or shutdown of exchanges was exaggerated by the Reuters news service … this week we find out that south Korean officials may have engaged in insider trading - specifically selling with prior knowledge of the the government’s announcements … it appears that only one or two employees were involved - but how do we really know? - do we take the governments word for it? Perhaps … only one or two employees … were caught ... this begs the question - was the whole thing a scam by certain high level officials in the south Korean government and the banks themselves to crash the market and reap large rewards?  Maybe … maybe not, but there is no doubt that something improper and fishy is going on. 3. Topic #3 -- ICO SEGMENT.   -- Gilgamesh
   1. Gilgamesh is a knowledge-sharing social platform powered by Ethereum smart contracts and blockchain technology. The network shifts the way readers, critics, and authors communicate and connect with one another. Using the Gilgamesh platform, users can gain and transfer knowledge in a protected environment that encourages widespread learning and education, and incentivizes the human race to become more thoughtful and information-centric. Productive interactions and engagements on the Gilgamesh platform earn users GIL Tokens, on the Ethereum blockchain through smart contracts. They can spend GIL tokens on in-app goods and services, or to vote on the governance of the platform.
   2. Key points, are as follows:
      1. Links authors with both publishers, & consumers
      2. Issued token used as reward & reputation mechanism on the platform - similar to steemit
      3. Stores data with IPFS
      4. Voting for features by tokenholders
      5. Use tokens to purchase books and services on the site
      6. Strong team behind the project.
   3. Drawbacks? - Has similarities to steemit, but is possibly different enough to attract a good deal of attention. So I don’t think this is much of a detraction.

4. Topic #4 -- MAIDSAFE update
   1. Highlights:

      2. The poll for choosing a proposal for the Safecoin Video Animation CEP31 is closing tomorrow. Forum users who are at trust level 15 and above can vote here42.
      3. The Marketing team has created a new Medium publication (https://medium.com/safenetwork57) to collect content related to the SAFE Network in a single location.
      4. All members of the SAFE Client Libs team will soon join the Routing team (some have already joined) to help with Routing development.
   2. A new 30-page primer introduction to the Safe Network is nearing completion.

      1. The team will be collecting all Safe Network content and putting it on medium.com -- which is a really great marketing tool.
